Strengthening Italian Life Sciences: HT National Facilities register growing participation
Following its launch in June 2024, Human Technopole’s five National Facilities continue to attract significant interest from Italy’s life sciences community. The latest call 25-ROUND-1, received 169 proposals , a notable increase from the over 120 submitted in the 24-PILOT call. Of submissions, 82 projects were granted access to HT’s facilities.

The role of adducins in the development of the cerebral cortex
Human Technopole researchers show that adducin proteins regulate morphology, proliferation, and fate of neural progenitor cells, sustaining the expansion of the mammalian neocortex. The findings, which offer fresh insights into the molecular logic behind neurogenesis, are published in Cell Reports.

FRRB funds the Glastonbury Group to study the immune landscape of pancreatic cancer
The Glastonbury Group at Human Technopole has been awarded a competitive grant as part of the “From Bed To Bench: the way to innovation” funding programme promoted by the Fondazione Regionale per la Ricerca Biomedica (FRRB). The study, funded with 2.000.000 euros, 600.000 of which will go to the Glastonbury group directly, will begin in late 2025 and run for 3 years.

Automating the science of how microbes grow
Human Technopole researchers have developed Kinbiont, an open-source software that automates the analysis of microbial growth data and returns quantitative, interpretable models of microbial behaviour. The results are published in Nature Communications.

Human Technopole plays an active role in communicating science effectively.
Our outreach activity kicked off while the construction of our laboratories was still ongoing. The development of our scientific activity will allow us to share HT’s works through communication campaigns, events, initiatives and dissemination activities aimed at a large and diverse audience: children, students, teachers and citizens from all walks of life.

Human Technopole takes part in the European Researchers Night in Milan on 27 September. Through interactive workshops, experiments, and scientific demonstrations, especially aimed at younger audiences, the event seeks to bring citizens closer to science in a fun and engaging way.
